Who is the developer and operator of Heritage at Irene Woods?
The community is a development of Edward Rose & Sons, a nationally known real estate developer who, since 1921, has successfully developed and built more than 80,000 single- and multi-family residences. Ecumen, an innovative leader in senior housing and services has joined Edward Rose to manage Heritage at Irene Woods. Ecumen prides itself on providing innovative housing and service options that empower and honor older adults – wherever and however they choose to live. Ecumen recently celebrated its 150th year.
I am still an active and independent person. Is Heritage at Irene Woods right for me?
Yes, Heritage at Irene Woods provides a unique opportunity for people who live independently to enjoy a retirement lifestyle with peace of mind for the future. You will have the privacy of your own beautiful residence without the burden of home maintenance. Numerous social, recreational, educational, cultural and spiritual opportunities are available, as well as priority access to on-site assisted living and memory care should it ever be needed. The best time to move to a community like Heritage at Irene Woods is when you‘re still active and independent enough to enjoy an enriched and engaged life.
What is included in my monthly fee?
Many expenses you now pay in your own home are covered by the monthly fee at Heritage at Irene Woods; including all utilities with basic cable television and Internet service available; a flexible meal allowance to use however you choose, including three restaurant-style dining venues; interior and exterior maintenance; scheduled transportation; twice-monthly housekeeping; linen service available; 24-hour emergency response service and 24-hour staff on-site; recreational, cultural, educational, spiritual and wellness-focused opportunities; and use of all neighborhood community spaces.
Is there a second occupant fee?
Yes, for a second person residing in an apartment there is a second occupant fee of $600 per month for independent, and $800 for assisted living and memory care.
Is there a security deposit or entrance fee?
No. Living at Heritage at Irene Woods is on a monthly basis. There are no costly up-front entrance fees. When you move in to Heritage at Irene Woods there is a small community fee of $1,500. This is a one-time fee.
Do I sign a lease?
You will sign a month-to-month lease at Heritage at Irene Woods.
How often will the monthly service fee be adjusted?
Ecumen reviews its budgets annually and has found that on average, fees may be adjusted 3-5 percent annually.
Can I decorate my apartment the way I want?
Yes, you are encouraged to furnish your residence with personal belongings and cherished items that make you feel completely at home.
What happens if I need to move from independent living to assisted living or memory care?
It’s actually very easy. You would select the apartment of your choice in either neighborhood. The fees would be adjusted based on the type of care needed and the size of the apartment you choose.
How do I know when it is time to consider assisted living for a loved one or myself?
Assisted living is an ideal choice for those who may need extra help with everyday activities such as meal preparation, dressing and grooming, medication management or other support services.
Are pets allowed?
Yes. The pet must be well behaved, fall within size and weight policies, and abide by Heritage at Irene Woods’ guidelines. There is also a fee associated with having a pet.
Can guests stay with me?
Guests are always welcome to stay with you at Heritage at Irene Woods. For added convenience, there is a furnished guest suite available.
If I miss a meal, will I get credit?
One of the many benefits of living at Heritage at Irene Woods is the flexible dining. At the beginning of each month, each resident has a dining credit to use however and wherever they wish within that calendar month. You may share this dining allowance with friends or family and use it to meet your schedule, versus having to eat in the dining room every day.
Is there a charge for using the community spaces?
No, the community spaces are an extension of your home at Heritage at Irene Woods. Enjoy the movie theater, arboretum and gardens, community room, pub lounge, family party room, and other areas with your family and friends.
Is there a washer and dryer in each apartment home?
Yes, each of the independent living apartments has its own full-size washer and dryer. And, flat linen changing services are provided in the monthly service fee in assisted living and memory care.
What if I decide to move after living at Heritage at Irene Woods?
Because you are on a month-to-month lease, you simply provide a 30-day written notice.
Where do I park my vehicle?
Heritage at Irene Woods offers 43 covered parking spaces for an additional fee and surface parking on its campus.
Is there additional storage available at Heritage at Irene Woods should I need it?
Yes, there are secure storage units within the community that can be rented at an additional fee.
